Acting Our Age: Priceless!

Every younger generation deserves the wisdom and experience that is most naturally mentored by an older generation. But, in this present culture, we parents and grandparents seem to resist acting our age. Isn’t this rather selfish? If we’re absent from the role of mentor, to whom are we abdicating? What is the price paid by children? Grandchildren? Children in our neighborhoods?

Hope, Sorrow, and Joy in Foster Care

Foster parents serve a critical role in our country in meeting the needs of children either on a temporary basis or permanently. Laying a For Life Foundation

It was a typical Saturday morning in Bryan, Texas. The streets of Bryan, and the neighboring town of College Station (home to Texas A&M University), were full of students and out-of-town visitors, getting ready for another football game and all the festivities that went along with it. Lubbock did not disappoint—104. But relief would surely come as I headed to Northwest Iowa for the Iowa District West (LCMS) convention. The relief measured only four degrees—100.

We thank Him for the freedom of religion and the freedom to exercise our religious beliefs. Given recent events, please join Lutherans For Life (LFL) this Fourth of July in praying particularly for the preservation of this latter freedom.

Dark Day

It’s dark in Iowa today, overcast and rainy. Nothing though like the dark clouds over our nation. They got even darker today.
