Brothers and sisters say it in a moment of jealousy. Perhaps you have said it to your brother or sister. “Mom always liked you best,” or “You always were dad’s favorite.” I suppose parents can sometimes show favoritism. What about God? Does He show favoritism? Can I point at you or you or you and say, “You always were God’s favorite”? The answer is “Yes!”

Our culture doesn’t welcome children very much. They are looked upon as a burden, both financially and emotionally. They take too much time from careers and leisure activities. Lutherans For Life is different. We welcome children because we know that children are not just haphazard “products of conception.” No, they are people known by God before the world began, people for whom Christ died, people whom God wants as part of His family. Lutherans For Life welcomes children because they are precious to God.

Here are John’s post-election comments.
What is the holiest number? Some say 7, for it is the number of God. Some say 777, for it is the holy Trinity as opposed to the unholy trinity of 666. It appears to me, however, that the holiest number is 501(c)(3). I came to that conclusion as I was pondering the possible answers to this question. “What will it take to get the Church to rise up and boldly take a stand for God’s truth?”
