My appreciation for Lutheran school teachers grew exponentially at the seminary in St. Louis. I had to be one for a day! Part of my course work required “student teaching” in an area school. I had the privilege and blessing of being with Kindergarteners all day. I’m not sure about the students, but I learned much, and I was exhausted at the end of the day! Doing this every day, day after day, is truly devoted service given to Christ’s children.

That appreciation has only grown over the years. I now see Lutheran educators in a variety of settings as I travel and speak in schools. They give their hearts to their students, desiring them to grow in knowledge but also in faith and skills for Christian living.

Lutherans For Life applauds our Lutheran educators and thanks the Lord of Life for these gifts to His Church.

P.S. If you are an educator, then take this personally! If not, remember to thank a Lutheran teacher and pass this along to them during this Lutheran Schools week.
