Christians often feel like they are being thrust into a new and hopeless battle that previous generations didn’t have to fight. This is especially true when it comes to the culture wars raging over sexual ethics and life issues. Rev. Dr. Matthew Rueger will make a case, from the history of early Christendom, that what we are facing today is nothing new. The first Christians lived in an even more hostile culture facing very similar issues. They did not lose heart. God gave them courage to make a strong confession and to stand against prevailing culture. Despite the harshness of the times, God caused His Church to grow and drew the lost to His Son for grace and new life. As our Savior worked then, there is no reason to doubt that He will continue to work among us.
