Christian Life Resources

Christian Life Resources counsels clergy, teachers, doctors, lawyers, moms, and dads on a wide range of life- and family-related topics. It is a resource center of materials and services on these issues. Most importantly, the national office educates others on the perspective of God’s Word as it relates to these issues. Through its official publication, Clearly Caring, email services, annual national convention, presentations, and articles, we seek to answer the question, “What would God have me to do?” based on the direction found in God’s Word.

Coalition Life

Coalition Life’s heroic sidewalk counselors, client care specialists, and volunteers have helped over 3,800 women leave abortion facilities with their children alive. Coalition Life St. Louis is now a rapidly growing 501(c)(3) non-profit with a mission of Ending Abortion peacefully and prayerfully. Directed by Brian Westbrook, Coalition Life counselors and prayer volunteers have helped save hundreds of children from abortion since 2009 and have impacted thousands of men and women. Beginning in 2011, the Coalition Life staff and volunteers began turning away mothers from certain abortions outside on the streets in front of the last active abortion facility in Missouri. Coalition Life’s efforts then expanded to Southern and Cook County, Illinois. When Roe v. Wade ended, Missouri banned abortion, but other states welcomed it, so the fight to save lives has moved to new fronts. In the fall of 2023, Coalition Life announced its expansion to Kansas City, excited to join hands with that community to save babies’ lives.

Higher Things

The mission of Higher Things is to make the Gifts of Christ Jesus known to youth and young adults. Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, was crucified for your sins and raised for your forgiveness, and the forgiveness, life, and salvation He won for you on Good Friday and Easter are delivered right to you in His Holy Spirit-filled Word and Sacraments. This is the heart and soul of our preaching, teaching, and worship because this is the full substance of the entire Christian faith. Jesus died, Jesus rose, Jesus delivers FOR YOU. Jesus’ salvation, won and delivered, is for all people of all nations, and Higher Things believes that this is regardless of age group. For over 20 years, we have been blessed by God to assist in delivering Jesus’ cross-won, empty-tomb-certain salvation to thousands of youth and young adults through our summer conferences, regional retreats, and digital resources. We are humbled to assist the local congregations, their pastors, parents, and youth leaders as we do the same thing they do: delivering Jesus through His Word and Gifts.

Institute of Lutheran Theology

Providing an education through online technology gives the Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT) the freedom to have a diverse Lutheran faculty and student body from around the world, while keeping tuition rates and overhead costs low. Work towards your degree at your pace and still have the ability to work a full-time job and stay active in your own congregation. Our Mission: ILT, as an institution of higher education, shall preserve, promote and propagate the classical Christian tradition from a Lutheran perspective. Our Vision: Centered in the Word of God and the Cross of Christ, ILT students will be grounded in the Bible, rooted in the classical Christian tradition, understand the contemporary cultural horizon, and think critically in the proclamation and advancement of the Gospel.

LCMS Life Ministry

Through LCMS Life Ministry, the Body of Christ comes together to value all human life — from conception to natural death. LCMS Life Ministry speaks up for life, cares for people in body and soul and teaches about the sanctity of human life. The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Life Ministry network is comprised of thousands of people throughout the LCMS who are passionate about and engaged in sanctity of human life efforts, both in our church body and the culture at large. We speak for human life by witnessing to our Lord’s creation of life and His design for marriage and the family, and by advocating for the God-given value of all human life in the public square. We care for human life by sharing Christ’s love and mercy, caring for people in body and soul by sponsoring human care efforts in local communities through congregations, and internationally through our missionaries and partner church bodies. We educate by providing resources and events for people of all ages.

LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces

The LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces supports all LCMS chaplains who serve on active duty, in the reserves, the National Guard, Civil Air Patrol, and Coast Guard Auxiliary. LCMS chaplains deliver Word and Sacrament ministry to our military personnel and their families. The LCMS cares deeply for those who currently serve, for those who have donned the cloth of our nation in uniform, and for those who served our nation and live in our communities. Our pastors of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod serve honorably and with distinction as military chaplains. From the Civil War through both World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, and current areas of conflict, our chaplains bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to those protecting our great nation. Some chaplains serve on forward bases in harm’s way, others onboard ships maintaining vigilant watch over the seven seas, and others walk the flight line on isolated Air Bases engaging Airmen on faith and family as they load fighter aircraft for combat operations. These “pastors in uniform” provide Word and Sacrament ministry while enduring hardship, constant peril and danger.

Lutheran Church Extension Fund

Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) has served as the financial extension of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) since 1978, offering funding and resources in support of the church. Our investors make it possible for us to provide customized loans and support services to new and growing ministries as well as loans for Rostered Church Workers who dedicate their lives to sharing the Gospel.

Lutheran Family Service
For more than a century, Lutheran Family Service has been there for people in their time of need providing a variety of services including unplanned pregnancy support, marriage counseling, mental health counseling, adoption services, church worker wellness, and youth and elderly outreach. Lutheran Family Services also offers a number of congregational outreach programs designed to equip people with what they need to successfully manage life challenges before they become a crisis. Our mission is simple: We walk with people who are experiencing hard times and are there for them just as God has been there for us. Our values are clear: Grace, Life, Family, Compassion, Accountability and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came into this world to redeem us. Jesus is the cornerstone of our ministry and the focus of all that we do in serving people. Our impact is profound: Every day, the men and women of Lutheran Family Service bring the good news of the Savior and His love to the world, one hurting or needful person at a time. Lutheran Family Service exists to serve those who need it—to help the pregnant young woman without a plan, the frustrated teen who struggles to understand himself and the couple in need of competent help to repair their broken marriage relationship. That’s why Lutheran Family Service is here and we will be here for you.

Them Before Us

There’s nothing exceptional about the people behind Them Before Us. We aren’t professional writers or pedigreed activists. We are just people who think that children deserve to be the primary consideration when considering what is best for, well, children. We are ordinary people willing to state the cost that children, as well as society, pay when children are deprived of their fundamental needs. Our Mission: Them Before Us is a global movement defending children’s right to their mother and father. Our Vision: Them Before Us strives to put children before adults in every conversation about marriage and family. We seek to prioritize the rights of children in the culture and courtroom, the personal and the public. Our Goals: Educate the public on a child-centric perspective of marriage and family. Represent the rights of children on policy matters. Translate core TBU messages into every language.ld and must be judged by the teaching of Scripture. The NALC has embraced four core values which shape our common life: Christ CenteredMission DrivenTraditionally Grounded, and Congregationally Focused.
