“It is good to give thanks to the LORD” (Psalm 92:1).
I’ve always found it a bit sad that we need to be reminded to be thankful to God for all His gifts. It should be so natural for us as God’s children. In an ideal world, thankfulness would be our constant state of mind. But it’s not an ideal world any longer, and we are not ideal people. As sinners in a sinful world, it’s all too easy for us to forget all the marvelous things that our God has done and continues to do for us.
It is good for us to have a day set aside to give thanks to God and meditate upon all the ways He continues to shower us with His blessings. Even as the world continues to descend into darkness, we know that we have so much to be thankful for!
We have been given Christ!
We have been given forgiveness, life, and salvation.
We’ve been rescued from sin, death, and devil.
And, for the sake of Christ who reconciled the world to Himself, God provides us with all that we need to live each and every day.
It would be impossible to list everything that we could thank God for this year. But we at Lutherans For Life are most definitely thankful for you! We are thankful that God has created, redeemed, and called you into His family. And we are thankful that God has worked in you a desire to share the truth of His love with the world and to be a Gospel-motivated voice For Life.
May the Lord of life continue to bless you richly. And may you be filled with a spirit of gratitude.
God grant you all a blessed and happy Thanksgiving Day!
