Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, thanks and praise to Your Name for the gracious kingdom of Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ.
By His coming, dying, and rising among us, He has taken responsibility for ordering all things on earth and in heaven to our benefit.
We thank You especially that You have preserved our land through safe, free, and fair elections, and You continue to deliver us an abundance of everything we need to support this body and life though we in no wise deserve it.
Now we implore You to heal breaches in relationships between neighbors and communities.
Ease conflict and resentment and engender unity and collaboration among our people.
Bring forth in us penitence for permitting, promoting, or perpetrating sinfulness in unwholesome talk or rash action.
Drive from us all arrogance and hostility, and defend us against enemies within and without.
Restrain evil and protect the vulnerable.
Open our eyes to see those in deepest need, our ears to hear their pleas, our hearts to carry their crosses, our hands to render material aid, and our mouths to encourage and advocate.
Give to our leaders, elected representatives, and all officials in authority integrity and insight to serve the common good.
Strengthen and sustain us not to put trust in princes, to render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and unto God the things that are God’s, and to respect, submit ourselves to, and obey the rulers You have appointed to care for us.
Inspire and amplify our Gospel-motivated voices For Life to speak Your truth and show Your love, receiving every member of our race as a gift and a privilege no matter what age, appearance, or ability.
Prepare us all in solemn hope for the second coming of Your Son and the ultimate consummation of the new heavens and earth in paradise everlasting, where Jesus Christ, our Lord, lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
