In this edition of For Life Live you can expect to …

  • Learn about God’s faithful care of Isaiah and his family through resources that can benefit others in this situation
  • Be stretched to see God‘s clear hand amid pain and suffering
  • Ask questions to better understand infant loss, trauma, Trisomy, palliative care, and grief ministry.

Heidi Wuggazer is a baptized child of God, wife, mother, proud LCMS Lutheran, trained Director of Christian Education, and grief mentor. She grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, attended Concordia University in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida. Heidi served as DCE for 10 years in Jax before retiring to be a full-time mom and homemaker. Her husband, Jon, is from Iowa, a diehard Hawkeyes fan, and an all-around sports nut. He works as a software engineer for a local military training company. Their daughter, Lily, is age 12 and is in 7th grade at Cornerstone Classical Academy where she enjoys studying classical literature, Latin, and history. Their son, Isaiah, was delivered stillborn on February 15, 2016, after 34 weeks of life in utero. He had a genetic condition called Trisomy 18 that caused heart defects which prematurely ended his life. Through this fiery trial the Wuggazers have come to see God’s hidden presence in suffering and His mercy in unexpected places. Since Isaiah‘s death, Heidi has become trained as a grief mentor for a local crisis pregnancy center and in her church setting. With this skill set she manages grief ministry in various locations and volunteers to walk with and care for families who have suffered infant and other loss.
