Jean Amundson and her husband, Robert, are the parents of four children and seven grandchildren. Jean became active in LFL after attending a national convention in Dallas several years ago. She is Life Ministry Coordinator at her congregation. She organized and leads a post-abortion recovery ministry—Hope in the Mourning—with the support of the local pregnancy center, where she is a volunteer counselor. Jean served five years (2000-2005) as a Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) Mission Ministry Vision (MMV) consultant for Texas. In 2005, she was nominated for LWML Texas Lutheran Woman of the Year. Jean speaks to adult Bible classes and church organizations on pro-life issues. Jean is a certified professional secretary (CPS) and Senior Administrative Assistant for a Vice President of a utility company. Mrs. Amundson's presentations are intended for grades six, seven, eight; high school and college students; and adults. Preferred settings include a youth group events, college group events, college classrooms, youth, teen, and adult Bible study classes, church organizations, and public forums. Airfare/Mileage: Actual airfare and/or current standard IRS mileage rate to airport or event. Lodging: Quiet non-smoking hotel room. Honorarium: As an affiliated speaker for Lutherans For Life, Mrs. Amundson is not in a paid position. Therefore, we ask that sponsoring groups provide an extra honorarium for Mrs. Amundson. The sponsoring group determines the amount of the honorarium. Honorariums depend on number of events. Honorariums begin at $200. Meals: $25 per day unless other arrangements are made. Other: A lectern will be needed. A TV and VCR and/or an overhead projector and screen may be needed. (This will vary depending on the presentation.)
