Facing Life Head-on

If any of you readers are KDLT-TV viewers, perhaps you have seen the Facing Life Head-On episodes.

Lutherans For Life of SD has joined a group of South Dakota organizations, churches, businesses, and individuals in sponsoring a wonderful pro-life television program on KDLT-TV. At 11:30 am each weekday and at 2:10 am just before sign-off from September 29^th to November 4^th, selected half-hour episodes of Facing Life Head-On are/were aired. Each day host, Brad Mattes, covers topics that provoke thought and promotes awareness on the life issues.

Each episode is brought to you with a revitalizing sense of optimism. Brad takes you inside the homes and workplaces of guests who daily demonstrate they are facing life head-on. Covering topics as diverse as adoption, disabilities, abortion, cancer, stem cell treatments, medical technologies, and end-of-life care, there’s no other program like it.

Now in its 3^rd season, Facing Life Head-On is filled with passion, personality, and life. Nominated for “Best TV Talk Show” by the National Religious Broadcasters, this TV program fuses education with entertainment to promote the value of life at all stages. It is our prayer that Facing Life Head-on will help to educate and give individuals a great appreciation for the value of all human life, especially heading into the 2008 election.

Lynette Auch (LCMS) and her husband, Douglas, are the parents of two children. Lynette has been active in LFL since 1985, helping to form and charter Southeast South Dakota LFL and Lutherans For Life of South Dakota. Beginning in 1993, she served on the board of directors of LFL of South Dakota and has been the state president since 1997. One of Lynette’s biggest joys in the pro-life movement has been her involvement in the ground-work and fund-raising for an ultrasound machine given to a local crisis pregnancy center. Lynette has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and works part-time as a labor/delivery/postpartum nurse on the OB/GYN unit of Avera Sacred Heart, Yankton, South Dakota. The Auch family is involved with the South Dakota team of Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ. They attend and are active in various activities at St. John Lutheran Church, Yankton, South Dakota.
